SMART HOME EXPO 2026 · MUMBAI ◆ JIO WORLD CONVENTION CENTRE ◆ APRIL 28–30, 2026 ◆ A SPECIAL REPORT BY PHOTONICS ENTERPRISE ·  MUMBAI, INDIA.

At the 7th edition of Smart Home Expo, one company arrived, stood alone, and stole the entire conversation — armed with Alta labs Wi-Fi 7 and a CEO who rolled up his sleeves on the show floor.

Where Alta Labs Rewrote the Rules of Networking in India.

Some moments in business are difficult to put into words. Watching Chase Harrison — CEO of Alta Labs — roll up his sleeves on the floor of a packed Mumbai exhibition hall, explaining Wi-Fi 7 technology to an ever-growing crowd of curious visitors, is one of them.

Watching Chase Harrison — CEO of Alta Labs — roll up his sleeves on the floor of a packed Mumbai exhibition hall, explaining Wi-Fi 7 technology to an ever-growing crowd of curious visitors, is one of them.

Mumbai Answers the Call

The doors of the Jio World Convention Centre swung open on the morning of 28 April 2026, and within the first hour, the Smart Home Expo was already buzzing. The 7th edition of this landmark event, organised by Messe Frankfurt India, brought together over 450 leading brands from across the globe under one magnificent roof — showcasing the very best in smart home technology, home automation, intelligent lighting, audio-visual solutions, smart security systems, and cutting-edge consumer electronics.

The show's energy was electric from the moment it began. Day One set the tone: the exhibition ground was filled to capacity well before noon, with professionals, integrators, architects, designers, and curious homeowners streaming in to experience the future of living firsthand. By the end of Day Two, it was clear this was not just another trade exhibition — it was a defining moment for the smart home industry in India.

The Lone Networker in the Room

Among all the exhibitors at Smart Home Expo 2026, one fact stood out with quiet but striking significance: Alta Labs was the only networking company on the entire floor. In a show dedicated to smart homes, smart offices, smart hotels, and smart buildings — all of which are fundamentally built on a foundation of reliable connectivity — no other networking or Wi-Fi brand had chosen to participate.

"I realised that in India, people do not give nearly enough importance to electrical power infrastructure and Internet network connectivity — even though these are the very core of every home, every office, every establishment."

— VIHANG VASA, PHOTONICS ENTERPRISE, MUMBAI

This absence of competition speaks to something deeper about where the Indian smart home market stands today. While consumers are eager to embrace smart lighting, intelligent audio systems, and home security solutions, the invisible backbone that powers all of it — robust, enterprise-grade wireless networking — often goes overlooked. Alta Labs chose to show up, stand in that gap, and make the case that no smart home is truly smart without a world-class network beneath it.

INDUSTRY INSIGHT

The Network is the Foundation

Every smart device in a modern home — from motorised blinds and IP cameras to whole-home audio, building management systems, and AI-powered assistants — lives and breathes on the wireless network. Without a reliable, high-performance, enterprise-grade Wi-Fi backbone, none of the innovations on display at Smart Home Expo can reach their potential. Alta Labs was the only brand at the show making this fundamental case to India.

Introducing Alta Labs Wi-Fi 7 to India

The centrepiece of the Alta Labs presence at Smart Home Expo 2026 was the hands-on introduction of their all-new Wi-Fi 7 access point — a product that represents a genuine generational leap in wireless networking performance. Visitors who stepped into the Alta booth experienced first-hand the speed, stability, and sheer capability that Wi-Fi 7 brings — technology that was, for many, a revelation.

What made the Alta booth particularly compelling was not just the hardware on display, but the accessibility of the people behind it. Visitors were not handed a brochure and left to their own devices — they were welcomed into a conversation. Every question was answered. Every use case was explored. The Alta team demonstrated, with patience and genuine enthusiasm, exactly how their technology transforms real spaces.

✦ THE PEOPLE

The Faces Behind the Mission

At the heart of the Alta Labs story in Mumbai were four remarkable individuals whose passion for networking excellence was evident in every interaction.

✦ Chase Harrison

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - Alta Labs Inc.

Flew in personally to represent Alta Labs at the Expo. Spent three days at the booth, explaining products with hands-on enthusiasm, speaking directly with integrators, designers, and homeowners — a true leader who leads from the front.

✦ Bryan Garner

PRESIDENT & CEO - Sound Vision Technology

A valued partner in the Alta ecosystem, Sound Vision Technology brings deep expertise in premium AV integration — a natural companion to the networking foundation that Alta Labs provides.

✦ Virat Buch

DIRECTOR — ALTA LABS, INDIA OPERATIONS - Alta Labs Inc.

The cornerstone of Alta's India presence. Alongside Chase, Virat worked tirelessly across three days, building relationships, guiding visitors through the Alta product ecosystem, and energising the entire Alta family that assembled from across India.

✦ Vihang VASA

BUSINESS OWNER - Photonics Enterprise, Mumbai

An Alta product specialist and integrator and proud member of the Alta BaseCamp program, Vihang has deployed Alta networks across client homes and his own residence in Mumbai — and attended the Expo with the conviction of someone who has seen the difference firsthand.

The Alta BaseCamp — Building India's Network of Excellence

What struck me most during my conversations with Chase Harrison and Virat Buch was the seriousness with which Alta Labs approaches its partner ecosystem. The Alta BaseCamp Certification Programme is not a rubber-stamp exercise — it is a rigorous, carefully designed path through which integrators learn, get certified, and join a community of professionals who share Alta's commitment to doing networking right.

Alta BaseCamp Certification Programme

The BaseCamp programme exists to ensure that every Alta installer brings not just product knowledge, but a deep understanding of enterprise networking principles, correct deployment practices, and a customer-first mindset. For India's rapidly growing smart home and smart building sector, this is precisely the kind of structured professional development the industry needs. Integrators who complete BaseCamp become trusted extensions of the Alta family.

As someone who has installed Alta products in clients' homes and in my own home here in Mumbai, I can speak from direct experience: the difference between a properly engineered Alta network and a commodity Wi-Fi installation is not subtle. It is night and day — in reliability, in performance, in the confidence it gives both the integrator and the client.

✦ A REFLECTION

Conviction on the Show Floor

There is something deeply reassuring about watching the CEO of a technology company stand on a trade show floor — not behind a glass podium, not in a VIP lounge — but right there, at the booth, talking directly with integrators, homeowners, architects, and hotel managers. Chase Harrison and Virat Buch did exactly this, across three full days of the Expo.

The response from visitors was extraordinary. New prospects arrived steadily at the Alta booth, experiencing Wi-Fi 7 performance first-hand, often for the first time. The entire Alta family from across India made the trip to Mumbai — partners, integrators, enthusiasts, and professionals — united by a shared belief in what Alta Labs represents: networking done properly, without compromise.

It is rare in any industry to encounter a company whose leadership and product are so perfectly aligned with each other. Interacting with Chase and Virat, I came away not just impressed, but genuinely confident — confident that my clients, my projects, and my own home are in the best possible hands when it comes to wireless networking infrastructure. The future of connectivity in India is being written right now, and Alta Labs is holding the pen.

FROM THE FLOOR

In Their Own Words — The Moments

To Chase, Virat, and the entire Alta Labs family — thank you for making the journey to Mumbai. Thank you for standing alone in a room full of 450 brands and making the case, with quiet confidence and boundless energy, that the network is everything. Thank you for building products that give integrators like me the pride of knowing we are installing something truly exceptional. You showed up. You worked hard. You listened. And you left every person at that Expo with a deeper understanding of what great networking really means.

The seeds planted at Smart Home Expo 2026 will grow into something remarkable across India. I have no doubt of that. Here's to the journey ahead — to more BaseCamp graduates, more Wi-Fi 7 deployments, more extraordinary partnerships, and to a connected India that runs on Alta.
